I only found a Dutch version of “Uw organisatie GDPR Compliant – Modellen voor een praktische implementatie“. However, it is interesting to know about it.
Context
The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), explaining how to become GDPR Compliant, came into force in Belgium on 25 May 2018.
A massive wave of mentions of this legislation flooded social and other media. As a marketing campaign, this was successful: this law is taken very seriously. And rightly so. The time of antiquity when privacy was unknown was over, and there was even a privacy law in Belgium, albeit less known.
We don’t think this legislation is unreasonable. Only time and practice will tell. What is certain is that there is a market for those who can help realize this law. The GDPR provides work for consultants and the ‘artists’ of the written word.
This book is about models for a practical implementation of the GDPR.
The GDPR consists of two main parts:
Part 1 provides a general explanation of the legislation. It then discusses its areas of application, general principles regarding the processing of personal data, and, subsequently, the rights and obligations of several parties involved.
Part 2 covers 29 models of documents, each in 4 languages: Dutch, French, English, and German. The structure of these models consists of a checklist, a case study, and an example model. This makes it interesting for people who don’t have strong legal skills or good inspiration in how exactly to make the organization compliant.
For me, the most valuable part of part 1 of this book is point 61: the Step-by-step plan. This explains what a company must do if it wishes to bring its processing operations into compliance with the GDPR and related legislation.
